As a follow-up to my posting from yesterday, I stumbled across a similar article discussing how researchers are constantly looking for alternatives to using passwords and biometric authentication has been taking hold in some areas. By using a part of yourself to identify yourself, it is arguably a very secure method of authentication. Also this sort of authentication is extremely hard to replicate without the person being present. This deters hackers often and poses more of a hurdle for them to get over.
